AUVSI Cascade Drones, Droids and Unmanned Systems

AUVSI Cascade's Next Major Event Comes to

Moses Lake April 11 - 12, 2018

We're off to a running start on AUVSI Cascade's next major event: "Drones, Droids and Unmanned Systems," to be held April 11-12 at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, WA.  No where is the expansion of the industry and educational opportunities more evident than the central Washington site of our symposium co-hosted by Big Bend Community College.  With a long-running aviation training program, Big Bend has added an Unmanned Systems curriculum that features the large Outdoor UAS Flying Laboratory, a netted area where operator training and demonstrations can occur unfettered by airspace regulations.  Backed by an Unmanned Systems Lab - this one indoors - to conduct operations as well as train personnel, BBCC has set the standard for Washington's UAS vocational training.  The state of the art conference facilities and self-contained campus provides an excellent venue for participants.  And, when you venture beyond Big Bend's campus, you'll find ample dining and lodging in Moses Lake, all at a fraction of the cost of more urban locations.

Plans are coming together on a great line up of speakers for this event.  State legislators, Rep. Tom Dent and Sen. Jim Honeyford have accepted speaking invitations.  Both of these legislators have deep roots in Washington aviation and sit on the Aviation Caucus in the legislature.  They'll update us on the state regulatory environment as well as provide their perspectives on where we're headed in the Northwest with this growing industry.  Additionally, we'll have the Executive Director of the Center of Excellence for Aerospace and Advanced Manufacturing, Mary Kaye Bredeson, present the latest news on the convergence of education and manufacturing related to unmanned systems.  We're also going to feature a "Women in Aviation" segment to highlight key contributions in the past and present by remarkable women in the aviation industry. That's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, though.  We have a host of pending acceptances from folks in the driverless vehicle industry, maritime and electric vehicle market space as well as other technologies. We'll open registration in late January so stay tuned for more information as we are able to release it, but save the dates today - April 11th and 12th in Moses Lake!

Have an idea for a presenter or topic for one of our AUVSI Cascade events?  We welcome your input - please let us know at tom.hagen375@gmail.com
