Registration Open for MEDP’s 2017 Annual Event: Forging the Economic Future

(MCMINNVILLE, OR) - The McMinnville Economic Development Partnership (MEDP) will be holding their 2017 Annual Event and Awards Ceremony: Forging the Economic Future on October 3, 2017. The event will be an opportunity to celebrate the partnerships MEDP upholds, the local manufacturers who make McMinnville a robust community, and provide a chance to learn what can be done in the future to create even more economic success in McMinnville.

The event will also provide a medium through which MEDP can share programs they have held throughout the year, their annual report, and goals the organization has set for the future. During the past year MEDP announced the aspirational goal of fostering the creation of 1,500 new, family-wage jobs within the next 15 years. In 15 years, 2032, the City of McMinnville will be holding its sesquicentennial (150 years as city). MEDP hopes this event inspires partners and local businesses to join them in their quest of making McMinnville a great place to do business.

The event will begin at 8:00am and will be held at the Lodge at the Falls Event Center in McMinnville, Oregon. Check-in begins at 8:00am and will be followed by a brunch catered by Valley Commissary, served at 8:30am. The official program begins at 9:00am. During the program MEDP will be handing out their Annual Awards including Manufacturer of the Year, Manufacturing Leader of the Year, the Board of Director’s Outstanding Partner of the Year, and more. In 2016, award winners were Ultimate RB as Manufacturer of the Year, Shon Holyfield and Shahab Emrani of TTR as Manufacturing Leaders of the Year, and Gary Conner of OMEP (Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership) as the Board of Director’s Outstanding Partner of the Year.

MEDP Executive Director, Jody Christensen commented on the importance of the event stating: “This event is our opportunity to express gratitude to our partners, our investors, our manufacturers, and all those working to make McMinnville the successful town it is.”

Following MEDP’s successful 10 year anniversary event in 2016, McMinnville | MADE Day, the 2017 Annual Event will explore MEDP as an organization and the manufacturers they support. The event is designed to help attendees learn more about MEDP, the organization's programs, goals for the area, and how partners and investors can help forge the economic future in McMinnville.
