Hello AgTechies!
Spring seems to finally be upon us -- we hope it's treating everyone well.
We're excited to announce our next Independence AgTech Meetup, this time discussing one of Oregon's fastest-growing crops: hazelnuts.
With 50,000 acres of newly-planted, blight-resistant hazelnuts now under drip irrigation in the Willamette Valley for the first time, will the technology of sensors, modeling, and analytics transform how growers optimize irrigation, quality, and yield? A 3-person panel will explore the potential of new technology to transform hazelnut research and orchard management, across our industry's diverse sites and soils: Nik Wiman, OSU hazelnut extension specialist, Dennis Carlson, irrigation manager for AgriCare, and Alan Campbell, president of SmartOrchards and Smarter.Ag.
Where: Indy Commons 278 S Main Street, Independence, OR 97351
When: Thursday, April 4th, 5:30-7:30 (or whenever the last person leaves)
As always, we welcome RSVPs on the Meetup page.
Food and beverage provided.
We hope you can join us!
