IndyIdeaHub invites you to TechStars Startup Overview on June 12 in Independence

Are you curious about what happens during a Startup Weekend? Are you worried you have to be an entrepreneur or tech genius to participate (don't worry, you don't)? Join us from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12 at the Indy Commons, 278 S. Main St. in Independence, for an informal overview and Q/A session to learn more about how the weekend works and why you should sign up to be a part of the fun!

Techstars Startup Weekend: Independence Small Town Tech starts on Friday, June 21 at 5 p.m. and concludes with final presentations the evening of June 21. Participants must purchase tickets in advance for $20, with the public invited to the opening pitch event and final presentations.

Techstars Startup Weekends are 54-hour events designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. The weekend events are centered on action, innovation, and education. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through testing, business model development, and basic prototype creation, Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos to a panel of potential investors and local entrepreneurs. Participants are challenged with building functional startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks.
