Yamhill County Announces Economic Development Competitive Grant Program

McMinnville, Or - Yamhill County Announces the 2024 Economic Development Competitive Grant Program will open on May 1, 2024 and close on May 15, 2024. The grants are for businesses located in Yamhill County.
Yamhill County will open the Economic Development Competitive Grant program for businesses located within the county on May 1, 2024. Businesses in Yamhill County are eligible and encouraged to apply for the seven available grants in amounts ranging from $10,000 (5 available), $25,000 (1 available), to $50,000 (1 available).
The Economic Development Competitive Program supports innovation and sustainable growth through strategic investments and partnerships in economic development initiatives and projects that create or retain jobs, generate increased economic activity, and improve the economic and social livability and vitality of communities in Yamhill County.
Economic Development Competitive Grant programs are offered through a competitive process, and applications are open for a limited amount of time.
The County has three grant funds for small business: Start-up Grant; Small Grant; and Strategic Investment Grant. In total, the grants amount to $125,000, with seven grants available in varying amounts. Applicants should apply to only one grant type and must do so before the deadline. Late applications will not be accepted nor considered. Applications must be submitted via the County’s grant submission portal: https://webportalapp.com/sp/yc_comp_grant_2024 which will open on May 1, 2024.
Match Requirement: Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate community commitment and support through matching cash, volunteer time, and/or in-kind donations.
Eligibility: Qualified applicants must be located within Yamhill County, and may include:
Project period: Projects must be completed within 12 months of the contract/funding start date. Costs incurred prior to the contract/funding start date will not be eligible.
Eligible projects: Projects must be in Yamhill County and have economic development significance, including, but not limited to job creation and retention; business retention, relocation, or expansion; increased private investment; advancing innovation; enhancing manufacturing capacities; providing workforce development opportunities.
Reporting requirements: Grant recipients are required to submit a report to the County’s Economic Development Department on the disposition and use of the funds. The report should include a financial statement, project activities, results and impact of the grant, and sustainability of the project. Reports are due to Yamhill County Economic Development Department no later than December 1, 2024 and again on June 1, 2025. Applicants will be sent a notification by October 1, 2024 and June 1, 2025 with details on how to submit their report.
Yamhill County has historically offered an Economic Development Competitive Grant program to small businesses from lottery funds. The program has been on hold due to the pandemic and other grant programs such as ARPA and CARES Act.
