Introducing YVCareers.com: A New Employment Resource and Job Board to Serve the Yamhill Valley
Apr 3, 2024
(McMINNVILLE, OR) — A new resource has launched to empower both job seekers and employers across the Yamhill Valley of Oregon. YVCareers.com, a job board, was crafted to enhance workforce development within the region. As the demand for skilled professionals continues to rise, this innovative platform is an important collaboration among community stakeholders.
YVCareers.com represents a collective effort spearheaded by the McMinnville Economic Development Partnership (MEDP), Chemeketa Community College, McMinnville School District, Unidos Bridging Community, and the Willamette Workforce Partnership. This strategic partnership aims to bridge the gap between local businesses and qualified talent. Collaboration between partners resulted in YVCareers.com, which offers a centralized hub for career exploration, job opportunities, and essential resources for professional growth. From internships to full-time positions, the platform caters to a diverse array of employment needs.
Funded by Chemeketa Community College, YVCareers.com is accessible to both employers and job seekers free of charge. When signing up, users are guided through a seamless registration process, unlocking tools designed to streamline the employment journey. With a global reach complemented by localized resources, the platform also provides career insights including education tools, videos to help determine a user’s dream career, and more to navigate today's competitive job market effectively.
“The platform is designed to connect local businesses with qualified talent while providing job seekers with access to a diverse range of employment opportunities. We believe that the success of YVCareers.com is intertwined with the success of the entire Yamhill Valley community. By working together to develop this platform, we hope to streamline the employment process for both businesses and applicants." said John Capaccio, YVCareers Project Coordinator through Chemeketa Community College.
The committee, which evolved out of the Workforce Integration Network (WIN), was tasked with bringing workforce solutions to the area. Committee member and MEDP’s Deputy Director, Heather Hadley Blank, said of the platform, “MEDP and our partners saw a need to connect our local employers with the qualified workforce already in our region. We are excited to launch YVCareers.com as a new centralized way for area businesses to find the right people and for job seekers to find resources and opportunities, whether that’s a paid internship or a full-time job.”
Beyond its function as a job board, YVCareers.com will also host a localized resource directory for both employers and job seekers. The directory will provide employers with information on local workforce partners that can meet a diverse range of needs. From aiding in job postings to pinpointing qualified candidates, the directory will facilitate connections with agencies and educational institutions for enriching work-based learning opportunities. Similarly, job seekers can find value in this directory, tapping into a variety of educational resources, work-based learning opportunities, and a comprehensive list of local community resources to bolster their job search efforts.
YVCareers.com intent is to streamline the employment process for both businesses and applicants with a regional approach to promoting economic prosperity. YVCareers.com invites businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations to participate in this exciting journey toward workforce development. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient Yamhill Valley.
