MEDP Develops Fall Seminar on Financing

(MCMINNVILLE, OR) - Following their successful spring solutions series, NEXT: Strategic Solutions for Advanced Manufacturing, the McMinnville Economic Development Partnership (MEDP) is excited to offer a new installment in their NEXT programming. The seminar titled “Bottomline Solutions - Making Your Money Work for You” will concentrate on companies in a growth trajectory, giving attendees the tools to increase their financial knowledge and boost their cash flow using their Profit and Loss statement.

The two part, one day seminar will be held on Thursday, October 26 from 10:00am to 2:00pm with a 45 minute networking lunch at Chemeketa Community College Yamhill Valley. The seminar begins with keynote speaker, Gloria Sica. Ms. Sica is the president and founder of the business consulting and services company, Fulcrum Drive. Her talk will focus on preparing clear, concise and timely financial reports. She specializes in improving accounting processes and systems and helping companies develop multi-year strategic plans that integrate financial plans.

After a networking lunch, a Business Resource Panel will begin a discussion designed to provide insight for businesses of all sizes including start-ups and mature companies. With specialists from various industries, the panel will answer questions regarding access to capital, contracting, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), veteran business resources, family business and succession planning, the rural loan program, the Entrepreneurial Development Loan Fund, and more.

Panelist include SCORE Mentor, Steve Patterson, Regional Development Officer, Dennie Houle with Business Oregon, Director of SBDC - Veteran Business Resources Officer, Rob Campbell, Founder of Family Business Counsel, Mark Wickman and Citizens Bank VP/Commercial Loan Officer Teresa Smith. The panel will be moderated by Larry Trujillo, Lead Lender Relations Specialist at Small Business Administration (SBA).

Tom Erhardt, Area Manager of the Oregon Employment Department commented on the NEXT Series saying, “I haven’t been this excited about a training series in a long time!”
