MEDP in partnership with Launch Mid-Valley Hosts Startup Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs

(MCMINNVILLE, OR) LAUNCH Mid-Valley, a regional collaborative unearthing innovative resources to help launch startups and support growth businesses is co-hosting a 3-day intensive that uses lean startup strategies to help entrepreneurs and businesses level-up. This event will take place at the Falls Event Center in McMinnville, OR February 28- March 1, 2020.
Whether you have an existing new business, a business idea, or are just curious about the startup process, this bootcamp will provide you with information, connections, and tactics to help you grow. There will be business owners, corporate coaches, angel investors and city leaders available all weekend to assist and encourage you through the process. The weekend will include networking, keynotes from experts across all areas of business development, business coaching, time to work in teams developing a business plan and pitch, and the opportunity to pitch your business idea for startup funding. Current prize packages valued at $8,000 in business consulting, cash, workspace and more.
There will be four key-note speakers over the weekend. Deven Paolo of Solid Form will be speaking on what it takes to launch a start-up, Hannah Kathryn Kullberg from the Small Business Development Center will touch on how to scale up and sell your business. Himalaya Rao will speak on Venture Capital and Angel Investing, and Tyler Harkness of Tonkon Torp will share insights on Startup Business Law. In addition to the keynotes, there will be nine business mentors available throughout the weekend to help attendees clarify and perfect their business pitches and get some one-on-one consulting and coaching.
“We are excited to be the host city of the first Startup Bootcamp offered by Launch Mid-Valley” says Scott Cooper, the Executive Director of the McMinnville Economic Development Partnership (MEDP). “One of our strategic goals for 2020 is Innovation Development, and we are looking forward to seeing a wide range of business ideas come to life over the course of the event.”
The weekend will conclude with teams pitching their start-up ideas to a panel of judges. The first place business idea will receive a price package valued at over $5,000, which will include cash prizes, legal consulting, a free month of co-working space, business consulting, and CPA services. Second place will receive over $2,000 in various business consulting packages to help develop their business idea
The cost to attend is $15 for students and $25 general admission. Food and beverage will be provided throughout the weekend. The Bootcamp will run 5:00pm-9:30pm on Friday, February 28th, 8:00am-10:00pm on Saturday, February 29, and 8:00am-4:30pm on Sunday March 1.
