New Energy Works Hosts Groundbreaking Celebration for New Sustainable Manufacturing Facility in McMinnville Oregon 12/21/23.

New Energy Works in collaboration with the McMinnville Economic Development Partnership, Representative Lucetta Elmer, and Mayor Remy Drabkin will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for their new 20,000 square foot production facility in McMinnville Oregon on Thursday, December 21st at 2pm PST.

With this new facility, employee-owned New Energy Works will be expanding their McMinnville operations adding new cutting edge CNC equipment, offices, and production space to their existing campus, which will increase their capabilities and service offerings, resulting in regional growth and expanded employment opportunities in the McMinnville community.

“We live in timber country, so it was natural for us to build our new facility of wood: timbers, walls, even the insulation! This new sustainably built facility will help our team better serve our clients nationwide as well as benefit the local McMinnville community,” said Jonathan Orpin, New Energy Works Founder & CEO, “By increasing our production capacity and service offerings with new state of the art European CNC equipment and production space we will be able to grow our footprint in the region and offer expanded employment opportunities in the years to come.”

The new structure will be based on similar heavy timber manufacturing facilities found in Europe, and will be built as responsibly as possible using sustainable building materials including structural glulam timbers from American Laminators (with lumber responsibly sourced from Yakama Forest Products), carbon sequestering concrete from Solid Carbon, domestically manufactured wood-fiber insulation from TimberHP, net zero carbon rebar from Cascade Steel, and sustainable & reclaimed wood from Pioneer Millworks.

The groundbreaking ceremony will provide photo opportunities with local community leaders, remarks from company Founder and CEO Jonathan Orpin, and time for questions about the project.

Patty Herzog, Executive Director, McMinnville Economic Development Partnership (MEDP): “We are thrilled to join New Energy Works, as they break ground on a visionary new production facility in McMinnville, Oregon. This project reflects a commitment to sustainability and signifies a dedication to regional growth and expanded employment opportunities. As the heart of this transformative project beats within the community, we applaud the foresight and dedication of Jonathan Orpin, CEO, and the New Energy Works team along with local (Solid Carbon and Cascade Steel) and other US based regional sustainable building material partners.  This project will undoubtedly shape a brighter future for McMinnville."
